My New year's resolution!

Alright! I have realized that I really am NOT good at this blogging thing. I have decided that I am making a resolution to update my blog once a month for the rest of the year. That only makes it 12 for the whole year. This way I can get into the habit, and maybe even get to where I update more frequently than that. Really anything will be better than I have been doing, so here is to a new beginning.

Brandon's birthday! He had a very Batman & Robin birthday. His current obsession. Parker joined in on the fun when blowing out candles....so much spit....gross!

My super cute boys!

Way back when the leaves were falling instead of snow. Brandon and Parker had a blast throwing and playing in them.
Sledding with my family at Constitution Park!

Our frosting extravaganza! We decorated this gingerbread house for a family activity just before Christmas. It was so much fun. Brandon and Parker both loved decorating their own gingerbread men.
Crockett Family Reunion 2010!
My little Photographer. Brandon got a hold of the camera and he took LOTS of pictures!
Hanging out at a park in Salt Lake with Mell and her kids! It was sooo hot! The kids got to play in this water that ran around the park.
Labor Day at Moon Lake with Ben's Family. Ben was able to borrow some kayaks from his work, but boy was it a chilly day for going out on the lake. It was lots of fun though.
Parker and Heaton hanging out together. Parker loves it when Heaton gets to come over and play, Heaton likes it too, depending on how nice Parker is to him.
Peter Parker? no just Parker! Parker found Brandon's Spider-Man mask and had a lot of fun wearing it.
This year Ben helped coach football and Nate played, so we spent a lot of time at football games this fall.
My super heroes and their pet bat! Brandon wanted to be Lego Robin for Halloween, so naturally he wanted Ben to be Lego Batman.

The Grass is Greener

Ben and I have been getting ready to plant grass for about 2 years now. It seems like something has kept us from getting all the way done, mostly it has been intimidating, but here we are almost done. Here are some pictures of our efforts.

We usually borrow our neighbors tractor to till the ground (usually because we have done it over and over). Well, she sold it! We ended up renting this skid steer with a tiller attachment and going over the yard so the ground was nice for our grass seed. Parker loved sitting in it!

Both Brandon and Parker loved being outside while we were working on the yard, and boy did they need baths that night.

After we did the first tilling above Mother Nature decided to send a quick heavy rain through, which was good except that when it dried it dried the ground too. So Ben, being the crazy ambitious person that he is, decided he was going to hook himself up to a palette with a couple slabs of concrete and our children, and drag the yard with it. Needless to say, that only took a couple passes before he decided he might die if he did anymore. Thankfully, our good friends Trent and Jenny loaned us their 4-wheeler, which went much smoother and didn't almost kill my husband. Brandon was a little nervous to ride the 4-wheeler, but after Parker jumped right on and he got to watch him have fun he climbed on too.

GRASS!!!
Well at least a little bit. We hope that it all comes in quickly and without too much more stress.

Intimidation

Well all I can say is that every time I come to this site I think of how long it has been since I have written and just how long it might take me to catch up; I hurry and click away hoping that maybe it will update itself. Sadly my blog never updates itself, and I am left with the daunting task of completing it all alone.
So here I am, finally deciding that I should face my blog head on. I will push my way through the treacherous task by starting with a bunch of collages from the past little while. I will have to continue to work on posting some more fun pictures between August and now. (I mean, really, AUGUST?? What was I thinking?).
Enjoy the picture update!

Missouri & Other Pictures

We went to Missouri for Ben's Grandparents 50th Wedding anniversary. This is the church where we had it. Nate had a lot of fun playing b-ball with the family. Brandon just enjoyed dancing with everyone ;)

This is Stockton Lake in Missouri. Brandon really enjoyed playing in the water, and so did Ben! They played football in the lake! Parker enjoyed sleeping and Nate didn't get to go swimming because of the stitches he got before we went to Missouri! Poor Nate, but he did make a hippo out of the sand ;)

While we were in Missouri we went to a Amusement park called Silver Dollar City. It was so much fun. Brandon loves to ride any ride they will let him on. Except one which was called Fire in the Hole! For some reason it was kind of scary to him, maybe because it was dark inside. Every other ride he loved. He even went on the American Plunge which is like the log flume. Lots of Fun!

July 24th at the Scout Breakfast. Brandon loves to play at the playground and Nate was having fun pushing him in the swing. The 2nd picture Brandon is saying "look no hands" then he told everyone on the swings, "Everyone, no hands" He is so cute!

The Zoo! We love to go to the zoo. Here we got to go with Nate and Michael for free thanks to the Utah Youth Village zoo pass.

Big Ol Swimming

We have recently found a place that we love to go as a family, and one of Ben's co-worker's likes to call it the Big Ol Swimming. We thought it was a weird description until we went for the first time. There is a fun play area for kids to play with slides, 2 slides for big people, a small lazy river, and a big pool swimming area with diving boards. The first time we went Brandon liked it, but not as much as we had hoped. The next few times he has loved it so much any time we talk about going he can't stand it. We usually make an evening of it and get Little Caesar's Pizza and boy does he have a hard time wanting to eat anything before we go swimming. All he can think of is swimming.

He wears arm floaties and most of the time he doesn't want anyone to help him swim. He also likes to jump off the sides and doesn't want anyone to catch him, he just jumps right in. If we do try and catch him he immediately dunks his face in the water like we deprived him of the dunk when jumping in. Brandon also loves the little lazy river he doesn't even like us to hold him anymore. When we first went he didn't really like it at all he would say, "I'm done!" But now he loves it.
We recently went with my brother Aaron and his family. We had a lot of fun with them. Here are some of the pictures that we got.

Friendly Visit!

Melanie, her kids, and of course her "nanny" Sarah came to visit us a little while ago. It was really good to get to see them and how much the kids have grown up and changed. Brandon had a blast playing and getting into a bunch of mischief with Brian. Those two boys together....makes me glad I didn't have twin boys! ;) We all had lots of fun. We went over to Vernal to an indoor pool with some kid slides and had a lot of fun. (Sorry we forgot to take pictures). Here are some of the pictures we did manage to get during the visit!
Brandon & Brian Having their last bit of fun before it's time to say goodbye!
