The Grass is Greener

Ben and I have been getting ready to plant grass for about 2 years now. It seems like something has kept us from getting all the way done, mostly it has been intimidating, but here we are almost done. Here are some pictures of our efforts.

We usually borrow our neighbors tractor to till the ground (usually because we have done it over and over). Well, she sold it! We ended up renting this skid steer with a tiller attachment and going over the yard so the ground was nice for our grass seed. Parker loved sitting in it!

Both Brandon and Parker loved being outside while we were working on the yard, and boy did they need baths that night.

After we did the first tilling above Mother Nature decided to send a quick heavy rain through, which was good except that when it dried it dried the ground too. So Ben, being the crazy ambitious person that he is, decided he was going to hook himself up to a palette with a couple slabs of concrete and our children, and drag the yard with it. Needless to say, that only took a couple passes before he decided he might die if he did anymore. Thankfully, our good friends Trent and Jenny loaned us their 4-wheeler, which went much smoother and didn't almost kill my husband. Brandon was a little nervous to ride the 4-wheeler, but after Parker jumped right on and he got to watch him have fun he climbed on too.

GRASS!!!

Well at least a little bit. We hope that it all comes in quickly and without too much more stress.
